Fast Pace Challenge Canadian beauty Emmanuelle Vaugier is a force to consider as she will surely become Hollywood’s next big star. She’s appeared in TV series such as Smallville and One Tree Hill and in movies like Secondhand Lions opposite Robert Duval and Michael Cain and 40 Days and 40 Nights opposite Josh Hartnett. Look for her in the upcoming comedy Deuce Bigolo, European Gigolo with Rob Schneider. The movie is being shot in Amsterdam as we speak. Emmanuelle talked to Alexanne and let her in on her secrets about her fitness life. Beautiful, talented, and fit for the job. Here are her views on fitness. On Love: I love to go hiking. I hike every day for about 11/2 to 2 hours in the hills around LA. I go to the gym every day too. Lately, I have done a lot of “Spinning” and weight lifting. I’ve been working on my upper body, my shoulders mainly. Here in LA I train with my new trainer, Matt. And in Vancouver, I work with my other trainer, Anna. They are great. I try also to do some cardio activities. On Revolution: I think that the best fitness revolution that could happen is if people could incorporate some type of exercise in their life like to the gym every day for 45 minutes or 3 times a week for 1 hour. It is not such a drastic change. It’s free to go outside to take a walk or run and everybody would fine himself or herself a little bit healthier and less stressed-out. And just for that, it would be beneficial for everyone. On the Future: As I see it, the future depends on what we teach our children now. What we are teaching them in the schools and also the influence of adults. Again, incorporating exercise in their lives in a fun way can make all the difference. Not presenting them with activities they dread to go to. Going on hiking and cycling expeditions, making the activities fun. A lot of schools are taking gym classes out of the curriculum. That is really unfortunate. Combining lack of exercise with fast food lifestyle, we should not be surprised to see people putting on weight. On
Advice: The fitness advice I can give you is to incorporate
fitness activity into your life. No elaborate exercise program that
will be exhausting and frustrating and then that you will give up after
a while. Just to do something to be active. To me, the main thing is
to be consistent. To start slow and from there, building and maintaining
a routine that is good for you. Just to take a walk every day can make
all the difference in the world. By Alexanne Molina |
