Vancouver as Utah? Yup, that's the deal, starting tomorrow, when perennially
disrespected Rodney Dangerfield goes to camera here with his newest film,
My 5 Wives.
Dangerfield plays Monte Peterson, a sweet self-made millionaire land developer
who loves women way too much.
His three divorces require that he keep the dough flowing, so he travels to Utah to check out property in a little backwood berg called Redwood Falls.
On arrival, he's thrilled to find the place is overflowing with babes, they're thrilled with his chequebook. Just to complicate things a bit, it turns out Redwood Falls is the simmering center of a large polygamous religious society.
Monte is forced to marry the three widows of the former owners of his new land; then, when helps out a family facing bank foreclosure, he becomes their savior and is gifted with a couple more spouses.
The five wives co-starring with Dangerfield, John Byner, and Andrew Dice Clay are Judy Tylor, Kate Luyben, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Angelika Baran and Anita Brown. other actors joining Dangerfield in My 5 Wives include Jerry Stiller and Molly Shannon.
