How Studio Frederique came to be

At the beginning of March 2013 I asked an artist friend of mine to help me with a small art project. I had never painted before, or at least not since grade school, and needed some guidance. We sat down that Saturday evening and that’s where it all began. Time flew, and the next thing I knew it was almost 1 in the morning……we’d been painting for 7 hours!!! I had a moody black and red butterfly that I was very proud of considering stick figures had been my specialty up until then.

The next day I dragged my friend to the art store and asked her to pick out all the things I would need to get me started. Being creative in a new way made me feel like a little kid again.....except now, there was no one to tell me to put my toys away and go to bed. OH JOY!!!I started posting a few things on my TWITTER page, and the response was amazing, I was beyond flattered. People started asking where they could buy the pieces....and that’s what got me thinking. Why not do something I love for friends and fans and have it benefit a cause dear to my heart.....animal welfare. And thats when Studio Frederique was born! Frederique is my middle name, so I thought it was fitting....and it sounds fancy....which of course, I like!

A portion of each sale will be donated to my charitable foundation, THE FLUFFBALL. Find out more:

I hope that through my art, I can inspire others to be creative and give back in their own way.
